Marble is a beautiful but vulnerable natural stone surface. It is a soft stone susceptible to stains and damage. It is a beautiful investment that you should protect by carefully choosing your cleaning products and methods to make sure you do not cause any damage.
To help prevent staining, marble surfaces are often coated with protective sealers. Depending on use, these coatings should be reapplied between 2 to 10 years, depending on the wear and maintenance products used. Regular cleanings should be as gentle as possible. Dust the surface once or twice a week with a soft cloth. We strongly recommend use of our HMK® P319 product which is a concentrated wax based conditioner and maintenance cleaner/polish/protector for interior use on all polished and fine honed natural and artificial stone floors, walls, and stairways. HMK® P319 enhances the stone’s color and texture, creates a brilliant shine, and further protects against dirt and water infiltration. HMK® P319 is recommended for countertops, shower walls, and fireplaces. It also protects impregnators and sealers and does not smear or scuff. P319 can be used alternating with P324 Liquid Stone Soap which also leaves a protective film.
